How do I clean a brick floor and how do I clean the grout between the bricks without using harsh chemicals?

Question by Tara B: How do I clean a brick floor and how do I clean the grout between the bricks without using harsh chemicals?
I have just moved into a 20 yr old townhouse that has a brick floor in the foyer when you walk in. It is filthy; with paint splotches and dirty cement between the bricks. PROFESSIONALS, please tell me how to get all this mess up. I have sinus problems and certainly do not want to use harsh chemicals. Thanks!

personally with the paint if it does not come up with water it will surelly need paint thinner or gas just a little for each spot for the grout toothpaste with baking soda should get it pretty clean.

A box of TSP and a stiff nylon brush should do the trick. Mix TSP according to label instructions, scrub with the nylon brush, rinse & repeat if necessary
